Gentle note everyone!

Assalamualaikum and a very good day everyone!

I know it's been a while since I jotted down my thoughts on this site. I kind of missed this place but here I am. I guess you just can't take away a baker's passion! Hahaha.

Anyway, in case you're wondering what I am up to these days, I've been working my ass off. Yeap, I've started working (permanently) for close to a year now. And being a can really suck up all your time. All I want to do when I get home is just take a long, hot shower and lose myself on my bed. Haha. It's fun, but really tiring.

As for my updates, I picked up baking again. :)). I must admit that I've put everything on hold for a few months now. I don't know what's gotten into me but I longed to bake again so this is what I came up with - a strawberry cheesecake (click on the photos to enlarge).




It was funny throughout the period where the process took place. I made a lot of errors and just before pouring the batter into the springform pan, I accidentally knocked down some sugar into it. The cheesecake was a tad sweet to my liking but everything went okay despite it not being my night. Haha.


And just two days ago, was my father's birthday! Since he loves orange cake, I decided to bake him a chocolate cake with chocolate orange frosting. :).




Notice the lump on top of the cake? You must be thinking what kind of a baker am I. That's easy, I am the lazy type and I'll be honest with you! Aha. But that aside, I've never liked levelling my cakes. I just love the crust. When you munch on them, it creates some good ol' homemade feeling to it. Crusty top with soft, fluffy cake - heaven. You can't go wrong with that. Thus the best part of a cake I believe is definitely its top crust. Mhmmm.

I'm tired and I have to wake up really early tomorrow for work. So I guess that's all for now. Be sure to check back once in awhile and I will try my hardest to update you guys with something, okay? /muchohugsss.
